Ester Armstrong: Passionate Oil Painter

Early Beginnings

From an early age, I discovered my talent for capturing visual images through art. Recognizing this gift, my parents encouraged me to develop my skills further. My first technical artistic instruction came as a Christmas gift from my parents — a "Paint by Numbers" kit that included oil paint. This ignited my passion for using oil paints as a medium.

Artistic Growth

Armed with self-taught techniques, I continued my art studies after high school at San Francisco City College and Merritt College in Oakland, where I currently live. This journey enriched my understanding and skills as an oil painter.

Balancing Life And Art

Throughout the years, I have managed to raise a family and maintain a career in the secular world while nurturing my artistic development as an oil painter. My immense love and passion for art have led me to continue creating art amidst life's challenges.

Evolving Artistic Expression

Although my chosen medium is oil paints, I continue to experiment with many different styles and subject matters. My body of work has grown to include portraits, still life, landscapes, figures, seascapes, and abstracts. As an oil painter, I see my collection as evolving—a testament to my ongoing exploration and creative expression.
